Clay as a Moisture Buffer

Clay as a moisture buffer

Clay is one of the best moisture buffers used in construction today. It is not only able to absorb moisture from the room air when it becomes too damp. Unlike most other building materials, clay plaster is also able to evaporate the stored moisture back in dry room air.

In this way, the room air is kept at a constant humidity of about 50%. This value is ideal for the human organism. The indoor climate is therefore healthy. It has a relaxing and invigorating effect on body, mind and soul.

Compared to the naturbo system with clay, calcium silicate plates absorb condensation water as well, but do not release it again. In this way, the panels accumulate more and more water over the years, reducing their insulating effect by up to 50%.
