Clay Plaster Protects the Environment

Clay is a 100% natural and environmentally friendly building material. Because clay – unlike bricks, lime or cement – does not have to be fired, it also has a much lower primary energy content (PEI: energy consumption necessary to produce a product) than other building materials, thus saving valuable energy already during production. In addition, clay construction materials eliminate elaborate recycling processes.

With all the excellent properties of clay plaster, the question rightly arises why this material has not been widely used. The answer is simple:
Because clay binds moisture very strongly, the drying times for clay wet plaster are about 4 to 6 weeks. In our time, few builders have neither time nor money (mortgage interest – longer rent). In addition, the use of clay building materials – before naturbo – due to the low industrial prefabrication status requires considerably more work. In times of rising wage and labor costs, these are extremely unfavorable conditions.
